The blurb perfectly explains the plot of the story. So, I was looking forward to a good angst filled read. Trouble in Paradise.The first half of the story is a great set up. We're introduced to the main characters, their jobs, and we're also a witness to the signs of the rift that is growing between them. David wants to spend more time with Hill, but Hill is a workaholic and just got his dream job. So, he focuses on his job and spends all his time doing that.
The ending had cowboys, horses, boots, and some hot sex.
I was expecting angst in the middle of the story. The setup and the blurb made me think that that rift was going to grow and there was going to be confrontations and maybe ultimatums, but that didn't happen. I was disappointed.
Overall, the story is great. The plot is sound, the characters are alive and real, the love between Hill and David is beautiful. I just wish there was angst in the middle of the story.
If you want a nice short story that you can read in one day and you love rodeos and cowboys and an established couple with a beautiful story without angst, then this book is for you.
